The Detroit Lions are all in on Jared Goff.
After Goff led the Lions to the NFC Championship Game, and the doorstep of the Super Bowl, the Lions signed the veteran quarterback to a long-term extension worth $53 million annually worth $212 million, making him the eighth-highest-paid quarterback in the league.
But, Goff’s deal also includes a record-breaking $73 million signing bonus, surpassing the contract Lamar Jackson put pen to paper on last spring.

Goff’s contract could have a trickle-down impact on and become the framework of a potential eventual long-term contract extension for Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys.
But, in the meantime, the Lions are banking on their major investment in Goff paying major dividends in coming years, with one of the league’s most exciting and talented young rosters in place around him.
