Christopher Bell snubs Chase Elliott and Kyle Larson while naming the current superstars of NASCAR

NASCAR over the years grew with the help of the Superstar drivers it had and the fans they were able to amass. From Richard Petty and Dale Earnhardt to Jeff Gordan and Tony Stewart , the sport has been blessed with some unique characters. Recently, Joe Gibbs Racing’s Christopher Bell has named the modern-day superstars of the sport.

The No:20 Toyota Camry driver made his choice simply on sporting merits. He pointed out that RCR’s Kyle Busch, JGR’s Denny Hamlin, Team Penske’s Joey Logano and RFK Racing co-owner/driver Brad Keselowski are the superstars of current generation as they are the leading drivers in terms of wins in the garage.

I would say in my eyes the superstars in the sport are Kyle Busch, Denny Hamlin, probably (Joey) Logano and (Brad) Keselowski … the guys that have won the most races out of the group. It’s becoming harder and harder to do that. Christopher Bell said via Kansas City Star.

By making his call based on wins, he didn’t mention big names on the grid such as Chase Elliott, Kyle Larson and Martin Truex Jr. The first two are among the most famous racers on the current grid but doesn’t have the level of success the veterans have. Truex Jr. on the other hand has the success and the certain level of fame and deserves a spot on the top.

While further talking about the Superstar of the sport, he pointed out that in the Next-Gen era, the parity on the field has increased to level in which every week at least 15-20 cars are in the fight for victory. So the type of serial race winners from the Big-3 era might never return.

The days of the big three – Truex, (Kevin) Harvick and Kyle Busch – are a long way away now. I don’t know if we will ever get back there…We’ve gotten away from those key guys winning races, but now we have more parity in our sport, and you never know who is going to win going into a Sunday. It could be one of 15-20 cars. Christopher Bell said.

Bell is right saying the Next-Gen cars have change the game for everyone involved and there might not be time where fans can see a mega domination from a driver. So, NASCAR has to come up with more unique ways such as the Netflix documentary to make the sport better.
