This week, Bally Sports channels went dark for Comcast customers, leaving them without a way to watch their local MLB teams. Comcast and Bally Sports owner Diamond Sports Group could not come to an agreement after a six-month extension to their carriage deal, which ended in fall 2023.

The change affected fans of the following MLB teams:

  • Cleveland Guardians
  • Detroit Tigers
  • Miami Marlins
  • Cincinnati Reds
  • St. Louis Cardinals
  • Tampa Bay Rays
  • Texas Rangers
  • Atlanta Braves
  • Los Angeles Angels
  • Kansas City Royals
  • Minnesota Twins
  • Milwaukee Brewers

In a statement this week, a Diamond Sports Group representative said, “We are a fans-first company and will continue to seek an agreement with Comcast to restore broadcasts, and at this critical juncture for Diamond, we hope that Comcast will recognize the important and mutually beneficial role Diamond and RSNs play in the media ecosystem."

In their own statement, Comcast said “We’d like to continue carrying their networks, but they have declined multiple offers and now we no longer have the rights to this programming."

If you're one of the Comcast customers who has been impacted by the failed negotiations, we recommend using a live TV streaming service to continue watching coverage of your favorite teams on Bally Sports. Two services currently carry Bally Sports RSNs: DIRECTV STREAM and Fubo.

Watch Bally Sports with DIRECTV STREAM

DIRECTV STREAM has four different packages: Entertainment with 90+ channels at $79.99 per month, Choice with more than 125 channels at $108.99 monthly, Ultimate for $119.99 per month with more than 160 channels, and the Premier package for $164.99 and more than 185 channels. The Choice package and above carries Bally Sports if one of the RSNs is available in your area. You’ll also have unlimited cloud storage and can stream on unlimited devices.

Watch Bally Sports with Fubo

Fubo is known for being a "sports-first" streaming service. The channel lineup not only includes most of the channels that sports fans need to watch pro leagues but also has live coverage of less widely known sports and leagues. Bally Sports is included with all Fubo plans, starting at $79.99 per month for the Pro plan for those in a Bally Sports location. Enjoy 1000 hours of Cloud DVR storage and up to 10 simultaneous streams on your home network.

Xfinity customers looking to switch can get a 30% discount for the first two months.

Watch Bally Sports with DIRECTV

If you prefer a traditional TV experience, similar to what you had with Comcast, you'll find your Bally Sports channel on DIRECTV, either via satellite or via internet. You can watch your regional sports network with the Choice package, starting at $84.99 per month, and above.
